InstaFriday-ish

Today I'm sharing some of my phone photos from the last month for InstaFriday. On a Saturday. Just a little glimpse into our everyday life. It's been a fun and eventful December!

We braved the elements and went to cut down our tree. The kids love playing on this engine that is at the farm.

InstaTuesday

It's been a while since I've shared some Instagram photos. Trying to slow down and enjoy these days with the littles and all their shenanigans. In no particular order, here's what's been happening over here...

InstaSunday

InstaFriday...on a Sunday. Here's a little recap of my phone photos from the last week.

I painted a stripe in our son's room last week. I have a few plans for some other fun projects for his room, but this was round one. Paint. Check.

This girl. She has such a personality. She cracks me up daily.

Last Monday was National Rocky Road Ice Cream day, so of course we had to participate. However there was a MAJOR meltdown over the ice cream because brother got more than sister and sister decided the world was against her. Oy! The drama.

More baseball.

We have been without a washer for 2 weeks! You should've seen the outfits that were being put together. Oh my! But in those 2 weeks, I only had to do 3 loads of essentials to get us through.

One load of towels that we took my parents' house.

One load of miscellaneous clothing that I took to a friends' house.

And one load of baseball uniforms and random things washed by hand in the tub.

Doing our laundry this way made me realize that we have way too much clothing. I'm pretty sure that our family of 5 could clothe 2 additional families with ease. There is going to be a major purge this summer.

Speaking of summer...it will be here in 4 days!!! And that means only 4 more lunches to make! YAY!! I'm excited for summer for many reasons, but not having to make lunches everyday is pretty high up on that list.

This guy turned NINE!! He growing up to be such a little man.

Sweet Pea's kindergarten class went to the Zoo. Our sweet baby girl got to tag along and navigated us around using her map. In her PJ's. With her bedhead.

She was so funny with that map. She was actually really using it. Map reading...it's a lost art.

Happy Sunday, friends!

InstaFriday

Is it Friday already?! This week just flew by. Linking up with Jeannett over at Life Rearranged to share photos from this week.

I've been working on a little patio set project and had some cute little helpers helping me remove tape

I took my mom to our local art studio for a Wine & Paint class. We painted daisies :) It's fun to carve out time to be creative. Time to sit and laugh with my mom. It's good for the soul.

Sweet Pea decided she wanted to get bangs

And Little Miss got her very first haircut. She's growing up.

InstaFriday

Just a small little glimpse of what has been happening over here. Nothing life altering or exciting...just the everyday stuff I don't want to forget. These kids are growing waaaaay too fast!

Mother's day weekend whizzed by! On Saturday, my mom and I went to lunch and looked through some antique shops. Here were my finds:

We've had some beautiful weather this week and random downpours, that resulted in double rainbows!

And then back to sunny.

Bubble blowing in the backyard. I love the look of pure joy on her face

And of course, brother had to get in on the action too

InstaFriday

It's been a while since I've done an InstaFriday so to ring in the first week of March, here it is! A few of these are photos from my phone, that didn't make it to Instagram.

Last Friday, our community had a Daddy-Daughter dance. Sweet Pea had been looking forward to it ALL week! She got to have her daddy all to herself.

While they were off dining and dancing, The Boy, Sweet Baby Girl and I went to a local art studio

The next night, I went back to the Art Studio for a Wine & Paint class with some girlfriends. Here was our project...

It was a really fun night!

Have you heard of Training Children in Grace & Truth? I recently liked them on Facebook and the other page suggestions they gave me were interesting.

2pac? Really? Not sure what he has to do with raising children, but thank you for the recommendation, Facebook.

Speaking of children, this little one has been busy in her kitchen

It's hard to believe she's going to be 3 in a month! Where did my baby go?

She's been asking to make cake for a while and I finally gave in. We made rainbow cupcakes, because you can't NOT be happy while eating one.

AND this week, at our church rummage sale, I scored in the toy department!

I had one of these cash registers when I was a kid and my parents still have it. It is the first thing the kids pull out when we are there. This one is in great condition and still even has coins with it! For $4, I'll take it!

If you live in the Northwest, I'd highly recommend making a trip to the sale. It's HUGE and it's happening tonight and tomorrow. You can get all the details here.

Happy Friday, my friends!!

Instafriday

It's been a while since I've done an InstaFriday post, where I link up with Jeannett over at Life Rearranged and share some random photos of what we've been up to. This is our Christmas version...

Our very large, Clark Griswald tree. It was comical getting this beast into the house, but it's up, alive and well.

Our elf, Pepper Mindt, showed up and he has really lived up to his name. He LOVES minty treats.

The "peppermint seeds" turned into candy canes, after being "planted" into brown sugar. I have more Elf on the Shelf shenanigans here.

I added a new decoration this year. It's a semi-handmade concoction...JOY lights purchased from Target, hubby put wood slats together and I painted the "to the world". Joint effort and I love it.

My mom and I attended a cooking demonstration at Macy's. Did you know Macy's has a Culinary Council and offers events like this? Me neither. My mom got us tickets and it was really fun! Nancy Silverton (La Brea Bakery and many other restaurants) and Tom Douglas (The Dahlia Bakery) were the featured chefs.

My hubby got to get out for a date night...his & hers.

We watched White Christmas, because it just isn't Christmas without this classic movie.

There's been lots of time spent in the kitchen...Cinnamon Rolls

Pretzel Rolo Turtles with the cutest little helpers ever!

And a homemade GAK gift for her brother. We got the recipe from here and it really is like the real stuff!

And lastly, my wrapping station. Just keeping it real. I'm a messy wrapper. Are you all done with your wrapping?

I am not and will be locked away in here until Christmas Eve, so if I don't see you...MERRY CHRISTMAS!

InstaFriday

I'm linking up with Jeannett over at Life Rearranged for InstaFriday, even though it's Saturday. Late to the party, as usual.

Speaking of Jeannett...she wrote an awesome post about the #fitchthehomeless campaign that's running around the web and she put into words exactly what I was thinking in my brain. She's such a great blogger and I appreciate her heart.

Did you have a nice Mother's Day? We had a great weekend! Lots of time just being together as a family. And I got to sleep in! Ahhh, what a treat!

Sweet Pea's preschool did a Mother's Day Tea and we were not allowed in until party time. She was serious. There were bouncers and everything.

Sweet Pea got a new bike for her birthday, along with a sweeeeet new helmet! Meow!

She loves bath time.

Successful day at the dentist. No cavities. No tears. All smiles.

I make school lunches every night before I go to bed and this was my attempt to get out of the rut I am in...Cherry Chocolate PB sandwiches. I didn't hear any complaining after school, so I guess it was all good.

This is what we do during at every one of brother's baseball games...sandpit. It's actually a jumping pit for track & field. And it's not like the soft, beachy sand. Oh no. It's grainy, rocky, yucky sand. Ewwww. But whatever keeps her off the baseball field!

Someone got an easel for her birthday and she LOVES it! She's our little budding artist.

And I finally got to a project that I've been wanting to do...creating a chalkboard and a corkboard for a little message center in our kitchen.

P.S. There's a new app called A Beautiful Mess and it has lots of fun doodles and text to add to your photos. If you're wondering about some of the photos above, that's the app I used :)
