Summer List 2012

Birthday Celebration

For the boy's birthday, he woke up to lots of balloons all over his room.

He got to have doughnuts for breakfast

And then went off to school where he got to celebrate with his classmates.

We had dinner with our families, then home for cupcakes and ice cream.

For the cupcakes, I tried something new (inspired by Pinterest, of course). I did this for the cupcakes...

and it totally worked! The batter wasn't runny and the cupcakes came out nice and fluffy instead of flat and crumbly.

And it too, was awesome! I used chocolate pudding and with all the other ingredients, it was more like mousse. Light, creamy and sweet! So there you have it...

The boy got a special cupcake with a worm on it!

Sweet Pea was very helpful.

He's such a big boy. Such a good big brother, friend and son. He came home yesterday with the "kindness award" from school. We're so proud of him. I love that he has a heart for others and knows how to show compassion. We are blessed that he is a part of our family!

Baseball, Birthdays and a Baby Shower

This weekend was filled with baseball, a birthday swim party, yard work and a baby shower for a close friend.

And a lovely baby shower it was! Mom-to-be, Erin is expecting her second child, a girl. They are naming her Eleanor, after Erin's grandmother.

Her mom gave her some of her old baby things. SO sweet! And vintage. And adorable!

I LOVE these Keds. I want a pair in my size...STAT!

InstaFriday

We had a great week, other than my hubby being sick...boo!
Last Saturday we had a garage sale, which was a lot of work. I'm not sure it was worth what we made, but it was fun. We had several friends stop by, so that made it more awesome.

On Tuesday, the girls and I joined the boy and his class for a field trip to the Coast (in Oregon we don't call it a beach...it's "the coast"). However, it was a gorgeous day and I think it was worthy enough to call it "the beach" on Tuesday.

We went to the aquarium and saw all sorts of cool sea life. The jellyfish was one of our favorites

After the aquarium, we ate lunch and played in the water. Then we went to the tide pools. It wasn't the safest place for a toddler, so the girls and I watched from a distance.

Yesterday was Sweet Pea's last day of school, so on Wednesday, we made peanut butter cookies for her teachers

The boy's last day is next Friday. It's crazy that a whole year has gone by already!
