My New Jewelry Organizer

Okay, folks...as promised, here is the reveal of my old printer's type tray turned jewelry organizer...

I removed some of the wood pieces to make bigger spaces for hanging the earrings. Then I painted the tray and screwed in the teeny, tiny eyelet screws for earrings and hooks for necklaces.

My husband helped me with the placing of the screws. We found that drilling in a little bit helps to get the screws in easier. It's a time consuming project to hand screw each and every little eyelet and they are not all set perfectly, but all and all,  I'm really happy with how it all came out.

Now I need to find some more pretties to fill up the spaces :)

On another note, yesterday my hubby had the day off (YAY!), so we had another family day at home. We got out the pool and wore out the kids.

Fill 'er up!

After some fun in the sun, little sweet pea got her FIRST EVER HAIRCUT, given by yours truly :) We've been trying to convince her to trim her hair for weeks and she finally decided it was time. It was a little sad to cut off her natural curly ends, but it beats the everyday fight to comb those locks.

  5. I got the printer's tray off Craigslist. There's quite a nice selection on eBay too, but shipping can be pretty pricey. If you do a search, look for printers' type tray or drawer. Happy Hunting :)

  10. Hey, that is great and I have a printer tray under the bed collecting dust. Used it as a shadow box in the 80's.

  12. Your jewelry organizer looks great! I dug mine out of the shed a couple of weeks ago, but I haven't started it yet. It seems the hardware is too expensive to suit me. Did you get yours at the store or online?
thanks for inspiring me, and giving me a nudge to start on mine!

  14. I love the jewelry organizer. I've been wanting to make one for a while now since my standing jewelry armoire doesn't really allow me to look at everything at once. What a beautiful solution that enables you to show off your sparkly pieces!
