The weather was nice and warm for the long, holiday weekend...it's about time! I feel like summer has finally begun. We took full advantage of the sunshine, spending lots of time in the yard, a movie and of course, fireworks!
On Saturday, we took the kids to the DRIVE-IN to see Cars 2. We had to get there really early to get a good spot and some some time to kill. Thank you, iPhone, for providing entertainment for our 6 year old :)
Popcorn is also a good distraction
Happy boy, with ketchup on his face
Sun starting to set = almost movie time!
Sunday was a family day at home and Monday was a celebration day! We spent the day at my parents' house where there was lots of food (I'm still full), games, family & friends and FIREWORKS!
Football...
Cousins & friends...
The Lemonade Flag Cake made an appearance, in a much larger fashion...
And our good friend, Kaitlin, made these beautiful S'mores Bars...yummers!
Sparklers!
My husband and brother in-law put on an awesome fireworks show...
And then we watched the neighbors' display...
The neighbor does a huge show every year and it's, literally, in my parents' back yard. No crowds to fight. No hard-to-find parking. It's a lot of fun! We look forward to it every year and are so grateful to my parents for letting us all come out there to celebrate.
I hope you had a great weekend!
