A few house photos

My sister-in-law gave this Katie Daisy print to me for Christmas. LOVE it! You can find it here

Well, now that we've been in our house for just about two months, I thought I'd share a few pictures. Things are still a work in progress around here and I'm thinking they will be for quite some time. But here's a few for now. The kitchen:

It normally doesn't look like this. Just imagine piles of dishes in the sink, food all over the counters and junk mail piled up on the island...that's about right.

My two little lonely globes need a friend. In fact, I need some fillers up on top of the other cabinets. Any suggestions?

Okay, and I know I'm a total dork for taking a picture of an outlet, but look closely...

USB PORTS!!!! Genius!

My hubby found it on Amazon and installed it (NOTE: if you plan to install one, turn off your power first! Speaking from experience here, folks). You can find it here.

This is our dining area, just off the kitchen

Again, the cleanest you will probably ever see it. Normally it's covered in ketchup, syrup, glitter, playdough and who knows what else!

Here's where we spend a lot of our time...the family room:

We're still fine tuning the decorating, but it will come in time. We are loving our new place and our neighborhood.

Beth Moore

I had the pleasure of spending this weekend with some amazing girls while filling my soul with words from Beth Moore in the flesh! I've done many Beth Moore Bible Studies, but I've never seen her live. And let me tell you...she did not disappoint! She spoke to 7,300 women about TIME and the kingdom calendar.

She is such a gifted speaker and motivator. The Holy Spirit just oozes out of her. I highly recommend her studies and if she's going to be in your area, GO see her! Her schedule is here.

We're getting ready to celebrate Sweet Pea's birthday at the end of the week, so my to-do list is calling! Happy Monday to you!

31Bits Party

On Monday, I had my 31 Bits Party and it was such a blast! A morning spent with girlfriends over coffee and brunchy food while looking at and trying on jewelry is good for my soul.

If you're not familiar with 31 Bits, read about the business here. Here's a quick rundown:

It was started by Katie Dovel after a trip to Uganda in 2007.
She met women making jewelry out of paper beads, but didn't have a way to market and sell them.
After graduating college Katie and a few close friends traveled back to Uganda and selected six women to make and purchase jewelry from.
It has now grown to nearly 100 women making jewelry. Each woman has an amazing story to tell and because of their new successful skill, they are providing for their families and overcoming poverty.
The 31 comes from Proverbs 31 where it describes a diligent woman providing and caring for her family. The bits comes from what the beads are made of...bits of paper!

Date Night!!!

Got to spend a lazy morning with these precious ones

An octopus driving a race car = no girls allowed

Our little barista in training
A sneak peak at some of the beautiful jewelry that will be at my 31 Bits party on Monday. More to come about that next week.

You are more beautiful than you think

My friend posted this on her Facebook wall and it was so worth the watch!

The way we view ourselves is completely different than how others, and most importantly God, see us. We were created in His image and to Him, we are beautiful.

You can see the actual sketches and other videos about this project here.

She's Two!

I cannot believe that our baby is two! From this...

To this...

How does that happen?

She loves:
French Fries
Dora the Explorer
Books
Little People
Dolls
Animals
and
Curious George

She is such a little sweetheart. She's our easy-going, go with the flow little girl and I am blessed to be her mama.

Happy Birthday Sweet Baby Girl!

Easter 2013

Easter 2013 was the first holiday that we got to host in our new home. It is a tradition in our family to make pasta, raviolis to be exact, and serve a big Italian meal.

This was the year we also got to break out our china...the first time ever! (along with the Pyrex and everyday dishware). It was an eclectic table. Here are a few pics:

I hope you had a wonderful Easter, celebrating our Risen Savior!

On a separate matter, I'm blogging over at 30 Handmade Days today. YAY! You can see it here.
